I would like to introduce you to Bertina (aka Highflyer). Bertina is Fan Fiction for the NASCAR Nation’s first spotlight author. What state (or country, if not in US) do you live in? I live in New Brunswick, Canada

How long have you been writing fan fiction? a little over five years
How long have you been writing NASCAR fan fiction? I have been writing NASCAR fan fiction for three years

What made you start writing fan fiction? I kind of fell into it by accident. When I started, I wasn't really sure what it was. I was just writing and enjoying it.

What is your favorite story you’ve written? I can't narrow it down to one so...NASCAR: The Cowboy's Girl (Carl Edwards), the Me and You series (different drivers, mostly Denny Hamlin), and Fate Changes it All (Kurt Busch); Non-NASCAR: All I Ever Wanted (Jonas Brothers, mainly Joe Jonas)

Do you have a story you’ve written that you were surprised about the response it received from readers? I have several stories like that. Whenever I write I tend not to like it, so it always amazes me when others like them.

Who is your favorite NASCAR driver to write about? I have a few. I can't really say I like to write one more than the other.
Is he/she your favorite NASCAR driver? My favorite driver is Kyle Busch, but I find him a little hard to write.

When I write, I like to pick at least two characters out of the story and base them on my friends or family. One prime example is in the fic So, What if She's an Angel? Ricky Hendrick's character was based on my best friend.

I am a huge fan of the movie Sound of Music, and I tend to use it a lot in stories.

I had someone once ask why I write so much. It is because I have such a huge imagination that anything and everything can give me an idea for a new story.
